2015 (Source - Data of Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, GOI).These
include RR Schemes – 1000, PWS Schemes - 65253 and Individual
Schemes/Spot Source Schemes –70810.The department is responsible for
Planning and Implementation of Drinking water supply, Water Quality
monitoring and Sanitation. With such a large number of schemes and ever-
increasing demand for water, there is a need to view all water sources vis-
à-vis dependent population in holistic and scientific manner. The
department envisages capturing water sources with its allied assets in GIS
environment. Link the Water Sources with Water Quality and Other MIS
database maintained by WSSD.

Asset Mapping, Geodatabase creation, GIS Integration and Generation of
Digital Key Plan
MRSAC has developed three mobile apps for this project: 1) ‘Jalshuksha’ for
Asset Mapping 2) ‘WSSDGeofencing’ for accurate Water Sample Collection and
3) ‘WSRS’ for Grievances Redressal System. These mobile apps are developed
on Android Lollipop Operating System 5.0 and are compatible with Kitkat 4.4 and
above. It uses goggle APIs for location and camera services.
The mapping work per water supply scheme is as follows - Water Sources (Jack
