Introduction

Zudpi jungle is a dead asset for the revenue department as it can't use the land
for any non-forest use. The Maharashtra Government de-notifying of Zudpi jungle

land in Maharashtra. Zudpi jungle to be recorded as revenue land. Zudpi jungle
land suitable for forestry and recommended its notification as Reserved

Forest/Protected Forest.

Objectives

Zudpi Jungle Mapping Using Remote Sensing And GIS

Methodology

Identification and mapping of Zudpi Jungle has been done for all 14 tahsils of

Nagpur district. This activity was carried out for Revenue Department funded by
Collector Office, Nagpur. Desired maps are generated for Proposal I, Proposal II &

III and Proposal IV i.e. Zudpi Jungle meant for Public Purpose, Zudpi Jungle
currently under encroachments, Zudpi Jungle under Non-Forest Use respectively

using high resolution satellite data, village maps at MRSAC and those provided

by Revenue Department and SOI Toposheets provided by Collector Office,
Nagpur.

Deliverables

Zudpi Jungle maps in A3 and A0 sizes for all tahsils of Nagpur District for
Proposal-I, II, III and IV.

Beneficiary

Collectorate & Commissionerate offices and Land Records Department.

Future Scope

The database on Zudpi Jungles use can be used widely for planning and
monitoring purposes of Revenue, Forest and other related departments.
