INTRODUCTION
Realizing the importance of the GIS database for management and execution of
PMGSY Scheme in the state, Maharashtra Rural Roads Development
Association (MRRDA) in its endeavor to develop GIS based PMGSY Information
System for the entire state.
OBJECTIVE
The aim and objective of the project are as follows:
• To update road network of Maharashtra using High Resolution Satellite
images.
• Feature coding of spatial data as per PWD Road Development Plan 2001-
2021.
• GIS data creation on Rural Road Network i.e. Core Network map for
PMGSY Scheme.
• Creation of PWD circle and Division Boundary layer based on the inputs
provided by MRRDA and PWD.
• Customization of Web-GIS based applications as per PMGSY requirement.
