Towns under NUIS:
Towns for Maharashtra identified under NUIS Phase-1 were
Aurangabad, Nasik, Pimpri-Chichwad, Pune, Bhiwandi and Thane.
Methodology:
Generation of NUIS Thematic layers database is accomplished through a
series of procedural steps. The approach to 1:10,000 scale thematic mapping
is given in Figure.1
The steps can be broadly categorized under the heads:

❖ Thematic Data Preparation
❖ GIS Database Creation
❖ Quality Checks and
